Kiddo felt "Privileged" with her First punishment!
Khushi joined her school on May 27th 2010. Since these were first timers to school, staff had insisted on this date though school's actual re-opening was June 7th 2010.There were many crying babies. (Khushi was also no less when she joined kinder garden.. her "Happy Times" soon after her 2nd birthday. 1st Dec 2009!)'
She was all exited to go to school and one of the parent had to accompany the baby. I had. More than her I was nervous:(. They used to give them biscuits, chocolates and used to let them go home after 1.5 - 2hrs. Khushi used to come and ask why they are leaving so early.. she wanted to stay and play there.! I was happy that she likes school.. god knows how long she will continue doing that:) Now, after almost a month.. things have started in full zoom.. she is learning new things every day and we try to extract what they taught that day..First few sentences were - showing little finger for loo became "I want to go to toilet"Showing thumb to mouth became "I want to drinking water".. Please open the box.. (she says, kids who do not know to open their box say this) etc..
Yesterday, i.e 29th June'10, I was asking her spellings for CAT, BALL etc..In between she thinks of her class and suddenly starts telling what happened in school..She said madam hit me like this.. (She hit herself on bums)..
I said.. - oh is it.. did she hit with her hand?
she said - no.. with scale..then.. she went and stood on her small chair.. and said madam told me to stand on the chair.. and started laughing..i asked why did madam tell you that.. she said.. there were many people standing outside the class and she had gone to see them..!
I said how many of you.. she said only me...I didn't know what to do.. later I told her that.next time you do that.. your friends will say shame shame ..am still not sure if she really understood it was punishment for breaking the rule:( Am reading lot of Chetan Bhagat these days..and feel.. its ok to do some mistakes and learn from them..as long as she learns from them.. I need not worry..
God bless us!
